2:12 PM Ken- Microsoft has pulled Internet Explorer Beta 2 (Source- Betanews.com) because their servers are not ready yet. Betanews.com says that what you saw on the ConXion sites, was a test. So if you were really quick like us and did download it last night you are one of the lucky ones, If you didn't you will have to wait until Microsoft puts the servers back online for the download, We will post when they do. And yes it is worth the wait.

7:20 AM John- Hello! As Bader and Ken said IE 5 Beta 2 has been released publicly. I will do a review on it, what would be cool is if we(Ken, Bader, and I) all did a review on it to show our different perspectives..... I'll get a review up late tonight or tomorrow. A few IE 5 Beta II Bugs have already been reported(ohhh no!!!! that sucks!). Bye.

7:20 AM John- Good morning! My dog is happy to have a new home(he told me so). I hate weekend homework, school ruins our Mondays-Fridays why ruin the weekend as well? If we have some downtime today, don't blame us.... we're gonna be "hacked" by Nick Martins(from that site the ripped us off) and his hacker friends..... Yeah, right. As you can see here, we're a Help Ware Site, so if have any questions e-mail us, and you will get a reply. IE 5 News.  Microsoft has released ASDI(Microsoft Active Services Directory Interface) v2.5 Beta 1 for Windows 95, 98, NT4, and previous versions of NT5 for public download(Source- TechNet Central). We might have a review of that later. Bye!

A whole lotta Windows 98 SP 1 Info, triple cool!! Bye!! I meant to post in the morning, but apparently it didn't upload. I'm a hacker! My dog's name is Bear! I didn't name him, his previous owner did, but it's cooo. WinAmp 2.04 has been released(as reported by Ken)! This release includes an updated Nitrane 1.24 system, better sound quality, improved handling of corrupt MP3 files, a new experimental "Aural Stimulation" mode (Winamp Prefs->I/O->Nitrane Config->General), and numerous bug fixes. Additionally, Winamp 2.04 includes an improved installer and uninstaller, as well as support for zipped skins(skins no longer need to be extracted). Download Now (Source- Raze2k). Bye!

October 24th 1998...

5:20 PM John- Sorry for not updatin' a whole lot, like I said I was busy. There wasn't much news anyhow. I spent most of the day at an animal shelter, looking at dogs. I found a cute, full grown(but still kinda small) chow mix(it's not dog food, it's a dog!), I'm gonna actually pick him up tomorrow, and I can't wait. Chow's usually have a small nose and eyes that are kinda deep in the face, but the one I'm gettin' has a normal size nose and it's eye's are like most dog's. It's also a little bigger than a normal chow.  Bye!

11:00 AM John- Hello! Was yesterday the best news day or what? Well, no news today....... Real busy day... Bye!

October 23rd 1998...

4:00 PM John- I've updated the Win98 Bugs & Fixes Page with more info on The Dotless IP Address Issue in Internet Explorer 4.0. Additionally I've updated the Downloads Section with info about WinZip 7 SR-1. We will be getting a Domain Name around late December, but we will need to change the name of this site... Me, Ken, and Bader haven't been able to talk about it much(well, not at all), but we will need to change our site name. Windows NT 5 is the Windows 98 of 1999, with NT 5 there will be arguments over it's home user capabilities(look above!), over who should upgrade, weather it's a rip-off or not, and many will want NT 5 news, along with all the other news, but our name makes us look like a Windows 98 only site, so we are gonna have to change our site name.... before I spend a lotta money on a Domain and all. I thinking of Code Name: Windows X, I like it, but tell me what you think. Bye!

1:45 PM Ken- NeoPlanet v2.0 build 241 has been released, This build contains a few bug fixes from build 170  and you can download it here. Also there is a fix available for the Dotless IP Address issue in Internet Explorer 4.0, The patch fixes vulnerability involving security zone in Internet Explorer 4.0 and you can download that here. That's all, bye.

If you want to make buttons for us go ahead on and make them, then send it to us, please make them black, we want to have many buttons for people to choose from. P.S. they can't look ugly! WinZip 7.0 SR-1. Well, I gave those idiots five days any they blew it, so bye-bye stupid site, I'll e-mail Xoom and since they don't want any trouble they'll shut down their site, ha-ha! Bye

4:00 PM John- This update is gonna suck.... No news! Bye!(told ya so)

7:20 AM John- Good morning! Seemed like yesterday was a bunch of 2-lined updates. To break that streak: IE 5 Public Beta, when the hell will it be released? The guy who copied our site is still up, I keep on telling him each time you copy our material you must give us credit and link to us on the same page, but he must not get it, well if he doesn't change his ways his site will be shut down tomorrow. Bye!

October 19th 1998...

6:00 PM Ken- Hello... Microsoft has released the final version of Windows NT service pack 4 to testers, if you are a tester you can download it here. Also it has been confirmed that the Internet Explorer 5.0 beta 2 posted yesterday on the Windows Update Beta Site is the official beta 2 release. (Source- Betanews.com) This means the public release is not to far away

4:05 PM John- Today was the big day for Microsoft in the courtroom, but nothing to report about. MS stays on it's story of Bill Gates coming up with the idea of an integrated OS/Browser a few days before Netscape was even founded. Windows NT 5.0 Beta 2 Has Public Premiere at Seattle 'Mini-Camp'. I've redesigned this page a bit, moved the counter to the nav bar on the left and also did some changes this like the HitBox and one of our buttons. See y'all tomorrow!

Check out this site... it's by the guy who is supposed to make our buttons..... I don't want to imply he stole anything, but leave your cursor over the FrontPage button and it says exactly what it says on or homepage... enter the site and you'll find almost all the aspects of the site are ours... we're given credit but not linked to(not even their links page) as implied on our Disclaimer. I know the people who made that site are reading this, Shut Down your site or I'll have a little chat with Xoom. The design id not exactly the same but you guys have to link to us if you steal a story much less a site. Well, since I'm pretty sure he's not gonna make buttons for us please, if can make a few buttons for us you'll get linked by receive full credit and some other extras. When your done with the button e-mail it to us. Please make the button black with the windows flag on it and the words Code Name: Windows 98.

12:47 AM Ken- A new version of Internet Explorer 5 has been released to Windows Update Beta testers. The new Internet Explorer 5.0 build (5.00.0910.1303)  has been put on the Windows Update beta site for download. (Source- BetaNews.com) That's all it's getting late.

October 16th 1998...

3:55 PM John- A delay for Office 2000 Beta II(DAMMIT!). I've re-downloaded OE 5 and noticed a cool feature, it updates your address book to a cleaner look with new options, it updates it in Outlook 98 also, it's way cool. The sickness is totally gone, one of those one day colds :-). Microsoft has released a Critical Fix for Internet Explorer called the "Untrusted Scripted Paste Issue" which is available for download at Windows Update(or here for non-Win98 users and for more details). This update resolves an issue where a malicious web site that, when visited, is able to use script to read a file on the user's system, affects IE 4- users only(Source- BetaNews.com). Correction about IE 5. I was right about ActiveSci-Fiinfo. That's all...

7:15 AM John- I feeling a lot better. I know I remove the little design to the left, I think it was put there Ken. I removed it because it's from Windows98 JoteSite, were not a high graphic site, and because it's not on all pages.... so don't send me e-mail saying that I deleted his data, blah, blah, blah. There isn't any new news.... In case you don't know Ken updated last night. Bye...

October 15th 1998...

6:00 PM Ken- Sorry for no updates the last 2 days but John always seems gets to the news first. Microsoft has set up Windows Update for Windows NT, the page loads the right version depending on whether you have Windows 98 or Windows NT. There isn't really anything up there except for a patch if you use Seagate backup. Bye....

4:10 PM John- I'm feeling kinda sick so I may seem down for the next few days. The System Info Website once again has a design update, wow! No news. Ahhh chuuu! Does anyone have a hanky? :-), See you guys tomorrow. I'm sick and nobody cares<moan>.

October 14th 1998...

4:05 PM John- I dunno where the hell Ken has been the last few days, so don't blame me for his lack of updates.... it might be the lack of news to report on. The first poll results are in.... a detailed view a the results are here. I thought more of you would say yes.... yes only won by a few votes. We have a new poll, MS says that NT 5 is for home users as well as business users, do you agree? Vote above. I've decided that when I get my new Dell I'll buy the 3D Blaster Banshee 16 Mb AGP, because it's cheap(under $150) and has the 3dfx Voodoo2 crap. Some bad IE 5 beta news. That's all for now kitties!

7:20 AM John- Good morning everybody. Well, there is absolutely no news this morning.... Oh, there is one thing, IE 5 Beta 2 has not been released publicly or on the SBN, it's the good ol' dev. preview for now. Sorry for such a short post.... Bye.

October 13th 1998...

4:00 PM John- Check out our new Plus!98 Sub-Section under the Windows 98 Section, it now houses the Tips and Easter Eggs of Plus!98. IE bug opens user's hard drives(Source- Active Windows). I dunno where the guy who supposed to make the buttons is...... that means delays, delays, and more delays for our link to us page. Homework, homework, and more homework...

7:20 AM John- All the Old News/Updates have been archived. I think I've found it.... the next member of the Active Network(Active Windows, etc.) ActiveSci-fi. Developers Give Windows NT 5.0 "Unprecedented" Applications Support Says Gates. New version of NeoPlanet. Also download custom interface schemes. Bye!

October 12th 1998...

4:00 PM John- Microsoft Outlook 2000 Joins Office 2000 Suite in Supporting Visual Basic for Applications. DirectX 6.0 Voodoo 2 drivers have been released. I have tons of homework so I'm trying to rush through this a little..... I'm having a little trouble making up a new poll, if you have an idea please send it to me. I'm thinking of deleting the entire Misc. Section and moving all those pages into their own sections except the movies and cars page which would be deleted, but again trouble contacting Bader, it's so hard when we live so far apart.... not to mention that his days off from school are Thursday and Friday as opposed to mine, Saturday and Sunday. See all you tomorrow....

7:10 AM John- D'oh..... my school is the only one in the entire district that makes us come to school today(Columbus Day). But, we do get out of school a week earlier than any other school in our district, woo-hoo.  Added a few cool tips to our Windows 98 Tips Section(they really do kick ass!). Wow! BetaNews.com has a great new design and new features. Also, Active Windows is down.

12:00 AM Ken- Hello Microsoft to rechristen NT, Thats right Microsoft is planing to rename Windows NT. That's all for now it's Thanksgiving in Canada so I'm going to my grandparents, but I'll try to post again today Bye...

October 11th 1998...

10:00 AM John- Hello! Windows 98 OSR II? The Windows 98 Tips & Tricks Section has been broken down into 2 pages and some ClipTray tips have been added. Well, I guess that's all....

1:30 AM Bader- Microsoft has launched it Windows Media Player 6 Website, although it has been posted earlier on other sites for download(Source- Betanews.com). I've made a slight change to this page's design, so if you can find out what's the change e-mail me and let me know. Let's find out who's the sharped eye visitor. That's all for now.

October 10th 1998...

9:30 AM John- Ahhhh.... a school free Saturday morn.... When Ken said daily updates he means on weekdays(I'm gonna handle all weekend updates). I've updated a few pages with the new Copyright thing at the bottom of each page now states The Code Name: Windows 98 Team, instead of listing all the names. Also the Contact Us and About Us pages now have info about Ken. Right click on the taskbar,  you will be given a context list with "toolbars" being your first choice, select toolbars; you will see "new toolbar" at the bottom of the toolbars "dropout list", select "new toolbar", a new window will appear with "My Computer" being the default selection, just click on "OK" at the bottom and you should notice a new toolbar on your taskbar.  To move the "My Computer Toolbar" click and hold down the left mouse button on the small vertical bar on the left side of the toolbar (I call it a "grab bar") and drag the mouse upward with the left button still depressed, you should see the mouse pointer with a small rectangle at the lower right of the mouse cursor.  When you reach about one cm from the top of the screen release the left mouse button and you should now see the "My Computer Toolbar" at the top of the desktop. Now you can access the "Deskbar" applet and notice the "My Computer" selection in the box. I can't do it but if you can send me a screen shot. I received a "card" in my e-mail today..... it was okay but it took minutes to download, you can send me e-mail saying whatever but it was a hassle for me to wait and wait and wait. E-mail me here. Ba hum-bug.

October 9th 1998...

4:56 PM Ken- Hello everybody, My name is Ken and as you have heard I am the new co-webmaster. And I will be doing daily updates along with John. You can email me here That's all for now see you Monday Bye! :-)

4:00 PM John- I don't know why Ken didn't update today...... well if Ken is reading this I send an important e-mail to your litestep.8m.com e-mail address. Updated links. Office 2000 Preview. I can't believe this..... our site has a total of 48 pages in our main dir.... I consider that a lotta pages. I'm trying to think of a new poll and will have it up soon. The feedback from the current poll is huge, well to me anyway. Another hot day in California(US), but we still had to run a mile in PE......... Enough complaining for one day....

7:20 AM John- We've moved the Add Active Channel button to the bottom of the page and worked on the look of the counter a little. FRIDAY!!!! In all the exiement of school and redesigning the site, we forgot to put up the Win98 Info Webring gif..... I put it up soon. I've updated the Downloads Section.  Hopefully Ken will update today. Bye!

October 8th 1998...

3:50 PM John- IE 5 Beta 2 System Requirements. We'll soon have soon have another co-webmaster.... his name is Ken. He wrote the NeoPlanet Review. We will NOT be accepting anymore requests of being a co-webmaster unless we ask for one. If you wanna help us with this site write a review for us.... all reviews will be accepted. Our button will be done shortly. I'm downloading the new McAfee Vscan 4.0.0. Sorry for such a short post.....

7:20 AM John- I've been receiving a ton of e-mail lately and I'm loving it!!! If you know me you know I love e-mail, so please e-mail me. No real news today. I'll be working on a new Downloads Page called add-ons and separate that from the Apps/Utilities Page, because that page is getting way to big in size. Bye!

6:30 AM Bader- Hi everyone! Since I'm very busy these days I don't have much time to do any updates, so you won't find me updating very often. Site Update: We've removed the Downloads section from its old location under Misc. and it now has its own separate section. We're not yet sure about removing the Tips & Tricks Section.

October 7th 1998...

4:00 PM John- Office 97's SR-2 is NOT back up. McAfee VirusScan 4.0.0 has been released..... in you Vscan go to File/Upgrade and you'll be taken through the steps of upgrading, you must be a registered user of Vscan. Office 2000 Premium/free Beta II???? That's it for now.

7:20 AM John- A person who wants to become a another co-webmaster for us has written this review of NeoPlanet 2 Beta as a resume of sorts. Sorry 'bout that, the Awards Section is here. Sorry for such a short post, but I'm in a hurry.

October 6th 1998...

4:00 PM John- We've received our first two awards!!!! I submitted our site to an award service that submits our site to other sites and so on. I've put up a new page in our misc. section with the awards here. I'm thinking about moving the downloads and tips out of the misc. section and in to their own sections because of their large size and because it would be easier to access, but I haven't been able to contact Bader lately. To explain, Windows 98 SP 1 was gonna be a MM pack(Elvis), but many problems have arose in Win98 so MS made it a real Service Pack..... it's not really delayed because the pack that was supposed to be released next week or so was useless to the many Win98 bugs and people might of thought MS is making them wait with a cheap MM pack when there are big problems in Win98 so MS decided to make a real SP, but it's not a delay for the MM pack which has (apparently) been recycled into this real SP. I think thats better than fixing some problems with WebTV......... I'm really amazed at how many bugs are in Win98, you would think MS would learn from it's mistakes. See you guy's tomorrow....

7:20 AM John- Windows 98 Service Pack 1 Will include support for modular Device Bay hardware, additional support for modem drivers, Increased support for USB modems, additional support for local area networks, security updates, such as the patch for the Outlook Express e-mail file attachment bug, WebTV update, which includes support for Gemstar programming guide and new TV tuner chipsets, networking enhancements that will enable dial-up connections over ATM networks and more, of course that means delays(More info). I was sitting at my desk studying for a test where we have to know how to spell all fifty US states and put them on a map, then I realized,"Am I ever gonna use this in my everyday life?" The answer is no.... I'm never gonna get lost and pull out a blank map and start filling it out, I'll never get lost and need to spell the state that I'm in.

It's much bigger than this test, we'll never need to use matrices, who cares if a plant is non-vascular, what a$$hole in real life will want us to point out verbs or pronouns in a sentence, why do we need to know how to play basketball, art?!?!?! that's not even a real damn class yet at my school we're forced to take either band, course, or art since I can't sing or play instruments(and don't wanna learn) so I go to a class were I cut out things and draw and make stupid masks...... all this non-sense and only a quarter of computer class, the only useful class unfortunately stuck with(ugh) Apple IIe's, we only saw one Win 95 PC in the class, but couldn't use it. In the US we have stupid students, millions(I'm not one them though), and we fill them with this crap and wonder why they can't make a living when they grow up. As we know computers are the future, they can only get more useful(and buggier :-), and us students(well at my school) get two and a half months to learn about them(well, if you call apple IIe's computers :-), I'm not saying every student should be connected to the web, but at least get some decent computers and teach some more about computers, make it an alliterative to art. That wasn't really computer news but I gotta have an outlet for this. Man, my fingers are tired.....

Windows98 JoteSite has finally been updated!!! And guess what? I've made up the name for a new app coming from JaSMiN!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Cool!!!!! Remember J.J. stands for John Jensen!!!!! Tweak uIE........ it works!!!!!!

October 5th 1998...

4:10 PM John- A very hot day here in California(US).... I've got a ton of homework(again)..... All-in-all a great day. WinZip 7.0 Final, the Miscellaneous Downloads: Apps, Utilities, and Add-ons Page has also been updated with this info. I've changed the image in the corner a little bit, made the words Windows 98 bigger. Bye!

7:20 AM John- The Old News/Updates have been archived. I had little to do yesterday so I worked on the site a little, tweaking here and there so the site should be in tip-top shape. I've added some more Office 2000 Screen Shots, this time of FrontPage 2000. I've also updated the Miscellaneous Tips Section, I added more FrontPage 98 tips and added some FrontPage Express tips also. No news......

October 4th 1998...

10:10 AM John- I've changed the logo in the upper-left hand corner, I like it. Also I've added some more DHTML effects to this page. I've made all the pages link to our soon to be complete Link to Us Page. Cool Stuff 2 is on a long hold until further notice, I don't have time to manage a site, do homework, and make a bunch of ReadMe files in htm format, and I can't find any cool progs. That's all for now.

October 3rd 1998...

4:10 PM John- I've signed up to go to a movie theatre and see all the new features in Office 2000, FrontPage 2000, and some MS games.... there's more, I'll also be receiving a copy of Office 2000 beta II loaded with Microsoft Word 2000, Excel 2000, Outlook 2000, PowerPoint 2000, Access 2000, FrontPage 2000, and PhotoDraw 2000.... I'll get all this for free!!!!! More info. I love you Microsoft(well, if Microsoft is a woman :-). The CD's for DirectX 6.1 Beta(RTM) will be mailed out next week(Source-ICQ). What the hell? Had some more damn server problems that kept us from updating earlier. As you can see I moved put an ad at the top to increase the click-throughs this being our most popular page and all.

October 2nd 1998...

4:00 PM John- I finally got some First Aid 97 and Office 97 CD's, when I installed win98 I had to delete some *.DLL's so they weren't working right. I have one question about Windows Update... Doesn't a pick of the month mean a pick of the month and not three months???? RC1 of Windows NT 4 SP4 has been released(30 megs). Not a lotta news.

7:20 AM John- FRIDAY!!!!! 7000 HITS!!!!! EXCLAMATION MARKS!!!!! Anyway, the images for this site will soon be done. If you have or know of an app, add-ons, or utility that you think should be in Cool Stuff 2 e-mail me. I'll work on Cool Stuff 2 this whole weekend(it's gonna have a lotta ReadMe files) and might be able to get a Cool Stuff Page Up. I don't have a release date yet but will go into beta over the weekend or sometime next week. I was looking at our stats and 1% of our visits are from Compaq, neato.... also 24% of you guys have Internet Explorer 5. No news.

October 1st 1998...

4:00 PM John- I got an e-mail from someone asking if Cool Stuff 2 would have have version number and will it be beta tested, yes I'll give it a version for fun, the final will be like 2.00.1998(see, I am creative :-) future builds will be like 2.00.1998.1 except if it's a major fix or update it'll be 2.01.1998, etc. All of the add-ons and apps are from other people so why put version numbers? Because if there is a product update for one of the products in the pack I'll include it so that would be an update also some of the 3DCC98 themes are from me and if I modify them or add new ones that would also be an update. I'll beta test to a few people, but not for the public. I'm thinking of bring up a page on the Cool Stuff Series where you can submit software and see news and updates about the series, if we do make a page for that it'll be in the Miscellaneous Section. NT 5 File System. We now get get twice as much for click-throughs, so please visit our sponsors, and the ad is at the bottom of this page in case you're wondering. We'll soon be receiving a logo for the site that'll go at the top of this page, and we'll probably move the ad to the top of the page to increase our click-through rate. Whew! That was long....

7:20 AM John- Good morning. For all you WinAmp fans v.2.02 has been released. Windows NT 4 Service Pack 4 Beta(Not Password Protected) at ftp://ftp.microsoft.com/bussys/sql/xfer(Source-BetaNews.com). Cool Stuff 2 is in the works, but I'm waiting for a few progs and add-ons to get finished like the Windows NT 5 Startup and Shutdown Screens from John Fellin. I need some 3DCC98 themes, if you have some send it to me as an attachment, all will be accepted and will be featured in Cool Stuff 2 and you'll receive credit and if you have a site you'll also be linked to in the *.htm ReadMe. I've already designed two themes along with a my setting theme, but I'd like to have more than three themes. on any page. This is a major problem, we need money.... FrontPage 2000 isn't gonna be free. On a lighter note 6000 hits! YES!!!! Have fun.

7:20 AM John- Updated all the pages in the Internet Explorer 5 Section. A channel is in the works. Close to 6,000 hits(Woo-hoo!). Off to hel- I mean school. I got a couple questions about if I get good grades well.... last year I ended up with 5 A's and 2 B's, I think that pretty darn good. And yes, there will be more updates than when we were working on the new design. If it seems we aren't updating a lot it's because school and/or the lack of news. Updated Windows 98 Bugs and Fixes Page. No news to report at this time. Bye.
